Waste types – what you can and can’t dispose of

At Dynamite Bin Hire, we aim to make waste disposal easy and efficient. To ensure proper disposal and compliance with environmental regulations, please review the list of acceptable and prohibited materials before booking your bin.

Accepted waste types

  • Mixed rubbish/household waste: Includes light household or commercial waste. Mattresses can be disposed of for an additional cost.
  • Green waste: Grass, leaves, and small tree branches (excludes stumps or branches wider than 150mm).
  • Clean soil and sand: Free from contaminants and mixed waste.
  • Concrete, tiles, and bricks: Ideal for clean fill or construction debris disposal.

Prohibited waste types

  • Hazardous materials: Asbestos, engineered stone, paint, oil, or other toxic chemicals.
  • E-waste: Certain types of e-waste are prohibited, especially batteries please call us to confirm.
  • Heavy organic materials: large tree stumps.
  • Other restricted items: Tyres, synthetic turf, polystyrene (freezer panels), and food products.

Waste categories and guidelines

Waste type What’s allowed What’s not allowed
General waste Light household or construction waste, garden/green waste, mattresses (extra cost). Asbestos, paint, oil, soil, sand, bricks, concrete, tiles, large tree stumps, tyres, freezer panels, synthetic turf.
Mixed heavy waste Household and construction waste, bricks, tiles, timber, mixed metal. Asbestos, paint, oil, soil, tree stumps, tyres, freezer panels, synthetic turf.
Cleanfill/hardfill Concrete, bricks, tiles, stones. Asbestos, paint, oil, soil, tree stumps, tyres, freezer panels, synthetic turf.
Soil/dirt/sand 100% clean soil, dirt, or sand only. Any other waste, including hazardous materials.
Garden/green waste Trees (no large tree stumps or branches), grass, weeds, bark, mulch. Any other waste, that is non-green including soil and hazardous materials.
